Nick Van Woert

Nick Van Woert
is a Brooklyn based artist. Modernizes the classical work of many of the greats by cutting, dipping, spraying them with plastics, resins, gum, paint and expandable foam. I really enjoy the freedom in these pieces they appear to look like he had a lot of fun making them.

Annie Collinge

Annie Collinge is a Brooklyn based artist. She born 1980 in London, England and studied at Central Saint Martins and Brighton University. Her portraits have a strange beauty to them in their awkwardness and saturated color.

Olaf Bruening

Olaf Breuning is hilarious. His photos have a light-hearted sense of humor about them.

Temper Trap - "love lost"

...so sweet. haha.

Stephane Fugier

I love Stephane Fugier's interaction with the human form. As a mostly figurative artist his work really excites me and gives me fresh ideas.

Laylah Ali

I love the way she talks about her process... I totally agree.

Kimiko Yoshida

Kimiko Yoshida's photos have been a great inspiration for me. The portraits in traditional and non traditional head pieces at times are completely stunning. The art and craft in traditional garb within cultures has always facinated me. I love how just with the use of these headresses and her use of the selfportrait tranform her and brings her all over the world.

Santa Sangre

Santa Sangre (1989) Directed by Alejandro Jodorowsky. Amazingly bizarre surreal horror film. Completely overstimulates you visually- in a good way.

devestating...

shocking....

my heart goes out to Japan...

Joshua Hagler

A friend of mine sent me a link to some work done by Joshua Hagler. I really enjoy the intensity in his work like every piece is caught at the exact moment before you are cover in a messy explosion of goup.

Conrad Ruiz

Conrad Ruiz or "Conradical" is a painter that lives and works in the Los Angeles area. He received his masters where I did my undergrad- California College of the Arts (and Crafts). He is inspired by pop culture, Hollywood cinema, and chaotic climactic explotions. His work is definately mesmerizing and comical but at the same time he deals with popular notions of class, race and gender.
