"We are all full of ghosts, people and cities we no longer visit but within whom we felt incredibly alive, and there is no reason to pretend they never existed. I wish I could hold those ghosts closer even, telling them that I forgive them for any indiscretion I may have at one point tried to scrub away with a ball of steel wool. Because trying to erase someone completely only makes their presence in your life more pointed — they are an intruder, they are violating your emotional restraining order and reminding you you cannot escape them." Advanced Style: Age and Beauty
Love these ladies! color color color. I am a firm believer that fashion is powerful when taken to an art form. It's all about presentation and confidence.
Dream Home
New York Times wrote an article about the artist Francis Upritchard and furniture designer Martino Gamper's home in London’s Hackney district. I love seeing two successful artists in love-sharing space together in their home. Super good.
Francis Upritchard
Francis Upritchard's ceramic mixed media figures make me want to touch their elongated toes and lovely relaxed hands. I tripped onto her work when I read a New York times article about her home with her husband, who I might add is an impressive artist himself. Upritchard is originally from New Zealand but currently lives in London.
Upritchard grew up in a hippy environment where the local hub of crafters and alternative therapists was offset by the oil industry. The failure of the 1960s peace and love dream, bringing in the "me" generation in place of a communally minded world, is one of the key ideas behind her figurines...Her clay figures made a splash on the international scene in 2009, when she represented New Zealand at the Venice Biennale, suggesting a shift away from her interest in magic objects and folk beliefs towards doomed ideals and utopian dreams. theguardian
I love how she uses her husband's furniture in her installation of her pieces- I think its odd how I feel for some reason because of that they look more contemporary. lovely work.

Ai weiwei Gangnam Style
Ai told The Associated Press on Thursday that he decided to make the video after learning that the family of his friend Zuoxiao Zuzhou, a famous rock star in China, was losing their home to a demolition crew. The artist said he thought a little humor could alleviate some of the frustration felt by the Chinese public.
"Our happiness is constantly being taken away from us, our homes demolished, we are always controlled, passports can be taken away from us, and all these can affect our happiness," Ai said. "However, every morning we have the opportunity to give others something to laugh about. Laughter is important."

Everthing is Incredible
On a day I am scouring the internet for something to fall in love with, I find this story from Siguatepeque, Honduras. The magic that can be found in the corners of every town, in the everyday mundane... How I miss Honduras!

"Baby Got Back" Sung By the Movies
I had this song memorized when it came out and taught all the kids on my block the words. Back in the good ol' days.

Saudade
Saudade has been described as a "...vague and constant desire for
something that does not and probably cannot exist ... a turning towards
the past or towards the future."[2]
A stronger form of saudade may be felt towards people and things whose
whereabouts are unknown, such as a lost lover, or a family member who
has gone missing. It may also be translated as a deep longing or
yearning for something that does not exist or is unattainable.
