"Triadisches Ballett (Triadic Ballet) is a ballet developed by Oskar Schlemmer. It premiered in Stuttgart, on 30 September 1922, with music composed by Paul Hindemith,
after formative performances dating back to 1916, with the performers
Elsa Hotzel and Albert Burger. The ballet became the most widely

Ally White
Georgia based artist, Ally White's work is so vibrant!
My paintings are a re-imagined portrayal of living in contemporary southern suburbia. They are intuitive responses to everyday surroundings that are transformed into unfamiliar and fictional situations. The image emerges through a process of erasure, mending, and embellishment of paint and collage. The use of collage as a preconceived “mark” forces the image and materials to interact with one another. Raised in a house in which the interior was a monochromatic brown, I now indulge in ebullient color. An inclination to fantasize and exaggerate the ordinary offers me a way to reshape what I see, think, and feel into something tangible. New American Painting

Erwin Wurm
“I knew from a fairly early age, about 15 or so, that I wanted to be an artist. The problem was, my father was a detective in the police. In his view, artists were almost as suspect as criminals”, explains Austrian artist Erwin Wurm. He obviously withstood his father’s objections to his artistic ambitions and followed his vocation. Good for him and for us, because Edwin Wurm is now one of the most successful contemporary artists in the Northern hemisphere.
We too love Erwin Wurm. He’s right up there with the zeitgeist. He speaks our language – the language of pop culture, tv, movies, comics and science fiction. And even though he’s had solos at some of the most prestigious museums and art galleries around the globe, Wurm dares not to take art, the art world, or himself all too seriously. “I want to reach more than just an elite circle of insiders”, says Wurm. And he did. Even if you’ve never seen one of Wurm’s shows, you’ll still know his work indirectly from The Red Hot Chilli Peppers‘ ‘Can’t Stop’ music video. The video is nothing less than a tribute to Erwin Wurm’s work. It’s filled with Wurm-style concepts and sculptural jokes inspired by his one-minute sculptures. MANON KÜNDIG - Bowerbird Collection
Bowerbird, the 2012 graduate collection from the Fashion Department at the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts, of Manon Kündig. A collection inspired in the Bowerbird, a peculiar bird that lives in the tropical areas of New Guinea and Northern Australia, and that uses its colorful fuzz to attract female prospects. With influences from the worlds' subcultures, Google and the Moroccan immigrants that live in the designer's neighborhood in Antwerp.
Layers of intricately printed silk contrast with sequined pants, beaded faux fur, synthetic fringes, lace mittens and socks, and silk scarves covering the models’ faces entirely. The shock of bright colors, textures and prints create a wild cacophony. The collection was born from Kündig’s everlasting fascination with transforming ugliness into pure beauty. We Are Selecters

Black Orpheus
Black Orpheus is a glorious movie with it's the colors, Brazilian culture, and throbbing samba. It was made in 1959 but so ahead of it's time.
Black Orpheus (Orfeu Negro) is literally what its title suggests: a retelling of the "Orpheus and Eurydice" legend enacted by black performers. This time the setting is the annual Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. Orpheus (Breno Mello) is a streetcar conductor; Eurydice (Marpessa Dawn) has just jilted her lover and is attempting to escape his wrath. Orpheus himself falls in love with Eurydice, whereupon her ex-lover, disguised as the Angel of Death shows up and kills Eurydice. To reclaim his lost love, Orpheus enters "Hell" (the Rio morgue) and uses supernatural methods to revive the dead girl. A multi-award winner on the international film scene, Black Orpheus features a samba musical score by Luiz Bonfa and Antonio Carlos Jobim. NYT
